The Last Great Mission Update - March 2008
Hello everyone, and welcome to this, the final edition of The Great Mission Update! Since I can't remember how long it's been since I've sent one of these, this might be kinda long, so be patient...
First off, I am currently serving in Laval, Quebec, which is just north of Montreal (it's the next island up, actually). This area is also a French area, and I'm serving as district leader of a district of 3 companionships (including my own). This could quite possibly be the best area I've served in - I definitely love it here! My companion is Elder Broadbent, and he's from Ogden, Utah. He's been out for just over a year.
Now for a word about our investigators...
Jonathan Hébert - Jonathan is 33 years old and is one of our "regular" investigators, meaning we usually meet with him twice a week. He's committed for baptism on April 19. He does have a couple of issues we're working out, mostly with the Word of Wisdom, but things are going well with him.
Suzanne Faubert - Suzanne is in her 40s, I'd guess, and has a son named Christopher. She's been meeting with missionaries for about a year and is doing well. She stopped smoking at the end of October and has been smoke-free since! Right now she's praying about a baptismal date.
Guy Simard - Guy is 53 and has been meeting with missionaries for 2 years now. His only problem is that we're waiting for approval from church HQ for his baptism. We meet with him at least once a week as well.
Those are the "Big 3". We have several others we're meeting with, but for the interest of time, I'll spare the details...
This week, the last week of my mission, is gonna be great! We have a lot of meetings scheduled, and even more time to go out and work to find new people to teach. We set a goal to find 6 new investigators this week. It's gonna be a HUGE challenge, but with faith, anything's possible!
Well, everyone, it's been real, but I've gotta go. I hope to hear from you all soon!
Take care,
Elder David Caudill
