Bounjour à tous!

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night, everyone!

I decided to send the whole family one email because I have a lot to write and not a lot of time to do it...

It's been beautiful up here the past few days, just like down there. Right now, it's noon and 26 degrees Celsius! Also, because it's been so nice, everyone is outside and it makes our contacting efforts A LOT easier! We just walk around town and there are people everywhere!

Well, it's good to know that my car's kinda up and running again... I was kinda panicing... As long as she's there in good working condition when I get home, I'll be happy. Unless, of course, there's something better waiting in the driveway for me LOL.

Again, the work was great this week, mostly due to the amazing weather we've had. Paula (16) and Serenitee (12) continue to do well, as does her mother, Connie. In fact, Connie told us the other day that she never sat in on lessons when her daughters have been taught before, and this time she's sat in on about 2/3 of them! We're really looking forward to Paula's (and hopefully Serenitee's...) baptism on May 26th. She's asked my companion, Elder Anderberg, to perform the baptism. He's very excited about that!

We also had a great appointment with the family we found from shoveling snow. Lorn & Rose (the parents) and Juanita (16) and Jonathan (15) and then my companion and I, all went over to the Relief Society President's house (Sister Willard) for dinner and a lesson. We had Shepherd's pie (which was amazing!) and then we watched the Restoration DVD and discussed the importance of praying and learning the truth for yourself. It was a good meeting and it really got all four of them involved and thinking about what we have been teaching them for the past few weeks. I told Elder Anderberg yesterday that I have a very strong feeling that their whole family will be baptized and be strong in the church one day.

We made Hoppin' John for the first time the other night. It turned out alright, especially considering that I used instant rice... The rice was kinda mushy but the dish was still good. I shared some with some of our neighbors, and they loved it too! I gave the recipe to one of them (David, who's being baptized on Saturday!) so he can make it too.

Yesterday was our ward conference, and a lot of stuff happened. First, Brother Oswald was released as Ward Mission Leader after filling the calling for like 2 years. He was then called as Elders' Quorum President. Our new WML, Brother Schnell, used to be the High Priests' group leader and is very excited about this new calling. He didn't even get called until 8:30 yesterday morning, so it was sudden for him, but he was glad to be able to help us. Things are gonna be different, as is always the case when leadership changes, but the work is going VERY well here. So well, in fact, that we've been told by the Assistants that if we keep it up and baptize 2 families here in Cornwall, the mission will send a 3rd team of missionaries here! Everyone here is stoked about the work, and it's really helping the four of us to stay stoked as well.

One last thing... My guess for James' job, which he said I'd never guess, is that he's filling my old job at McNasty's... Let me know if that's even remotely close...

Let's see... I think that's about it for this week. I hope you all have a great week and I'll talk to you guys later (literally, in about 3 weeks for Mother's Day!).

Love,

Elder David Caudill
