Staff weekend
Well this past weekend was Ransburg Staff Weekend, and I really loved getting the chance to go back down there, even if it was only for a couple of days. There weren't many people there, but it was still a great time. Here's a breakdown of what we did:
Friday:
The 10 or so of us that were there just chilled in the cabins. We played a game of Taboo and learned more than we wanted to know about Jen and her uses of ketchup.
Saturday:
In the morning we did service projects. The group I was in went first to the trading post and moved all the boxes of Ransburg bottled water into a truck to be moved to the Inlow for the winter. After that was done, we took down the boards behind the stage in the fire ring and moved them to the quartermaster. Once those tasks were done, we were sent to Lakeview to help paint shelters. That's when Alex knocked over like 20 buckets of paint (LOL OK it wasn't that many...) and I found out that I can't paint worth anything, and that I was only being used for my size.
In the afternoon, Jen, Pam, and I went over to the trading post to fix yet another problem with the computerized inventory. The costs for items were badly off. While we were doing that, Jen and I began flipping through the Guide to Safe Scouting. Some of the things we learned were that troops can't sell fireworks as a fundraiser, and that a car has to have enough seatbelts for each passenger, but it doesn't say anything about the passengers having to be in the seatbelts. Oh and we also learned (according to Matt) that skinnydipping is only an inappropriate Scouting activity if you get caught. Can we say GRAY AREA!!!!!!!!!!
At night we went in to Bruster's, which is always a fun time. Our car got permission to go to Target to buy a game for us to play that night, so we went and bought Pictionary. That got dirty real quick. Especially with a bunch of camp staff playing!
Sunday:
Well basically all I did on Sunday was help spread hay in Terrace Hills and Cliff Dweller with Corey and Ben Thomas. Once that was done, I drove Ben back to Ball State.
We didn't get our photo discs yet. I just found out from Matt that it's because Jeff hasn't figured out how to put the stuff onto DVDs yet. All I can say is, "Jeff, the system is down again!"
Well that's all for now. I'll post about my very exciting game of capture the flag later. Oh, and also, everything as far as date, time, and media experience is going to be from the time I wrote most of this post. Everything from Saturday night on was written after I got back from capturing the flag.

Quote of the day: "I usually dance in my birthday suit." my roommate Dane, while changing pants and dancing to "Hollaback Girl" in his boxers.
