Much-needed relief
whew...
OK just in case you aren't from around here, the weather this past week has been terrible. VERY hot (like high 90's) with the heat index up around 115 to 120. Today, though, we finally got some much-needed relief. After a storm front moved through here overnight, the temperature today was in the low 70's. In fact, at 12:30 this afternoon, the temperature was only 65! I'm glad the heat is gone, hopefully for the rest of the summer.
Also, this week has been pretty tragic for Scouting... First, 5 leaders have died at the National Jamboree, then they announce that the Pentagon won't fund the jamboree anymore (it's on a military base) because of "duty to God" in the Scout Oath. I just wish the government would leave people alone for once, but I know it's never gonna happen.
On another note, Sunny, if you read this, please call my cell phone and LEAVE YOUR NEW NUMBER!!! I did get your voice mail but it didn't have your number in it and it was nowhere to be found on my phone.
