Everything's crazy
Wow...
Something happened to me on Thursday that's never happened to me before. It was one of those situations that they always tell you will happen, and that you should know what to do beforehand. Yes, folks, that's right. Someone offered me a drink. My roommate and I were taking down his loft, and we had the door open. That's when someone on my floor asked me if I wanted to try some Mike's Hard Lemonade. (No names of people involved will be used to prevent them from being shot in the face by BSU) It wasn't like they talk about on TV, though. He just asked me, I said no, he's like OK, and that was it. There was no "Come on, everyone's doing it," "You're afraid," etc.. No pressure at all. I said no and that was that. I think I should add the whole peer pressure thing to my list of lies they tell you in high school.
Later that night, I got to see first hand why drinking is bad. Another kid from my floor came back totally trashed. I guess Thursday night is party night here... Anyway, he was staggering around the floor, and then he came into my room and tackled my roommate onto the bed. It was just out of control. He then was being just obnoxious in general, so finally I just closed the door. I just don't get what's so fun about going and altering your mental state, wheter it's from alcohol or other drugs. I guess it's just one of those things...
Oh, and one final thing that's crazy: The freaking weather!
This whole week, actually the past 2 weeks, have been beautiful. Sunny, warm, just awesome! However, Wednesday it started to rain and I almost died. The rain was so bad that I couldn't see at all. Of course, since I was driving back from Scouts, not being able to see was bad, since I was on the interstate. I was going like 55 the whole time. Anyway, that's all about my near-death experience. Yesterday, the weather went from just sheets of rain to bad storms, even though they all stayed south of me. And now, today, it's 20-some degrees and we're supposed to get an inch of snow tonight. Is it just me, or isn't this pretty much how that movie The Day After Tomorrow starts out?
Well, on that note, I've gotta go. I'll be posting another update tomorrow or Monday.
Until next time,
~David~
