Stupid Human Tricks
OK guys, once again, I go and get myself hurt by doing something stupid...
Last night, I had a discussion group meeting for my Honors 202 class; we met in the Botswin lounge. For anyone not familiar with that building, the entrance to Botswin is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet higher than the lounge itself. Instead of walking around to the stairs, I decided to jump from the top level to the lounge, something I'd done numerous times before. However, this time, I was wearing my backpack, which somehow managed to throw off my landing. I did land on my feet, but my weight was all on my right leg. I knew this wasn't good, because three things happened simultaneously:
1. A burst of pain shot from my right ankle all the way up to my hip.
2. My ankle began to hurt constantly.
3. So did my knee.
I was able to endure the pain through the group meeting. Once I got back to my room, I took some ibuprofen. When I woke up this morning, I thought that everything was back to normal. However, as I was sitting in my first class, my knee began to hurt again. After all my classes were over, pain returned to my ankle as well. It was a strange, new pain. A burning pain. I also think it's swollen. I guess I'll have to go to the doctor sometime soon.
Anyway...
On a less painful note, I'll be back home this weekend. Friday night is senior night at the PHHS basketball game, and I'm gonna be there to support my sister. Hopefully, I'll be able to play in the pep band too. From what I've heard, the trumpets there need all the help they can get, but you didn't hear that from me.
Also, I'm looking for someone to come with me to Norwell High School on February 26th. I'm going to go watch the winter percussion contest there, and then probably check into a hotel that night. All I'm asking is for someone to keep me company and, if necessary, split the cost of a hotel room.
Well, I guess that's everything for right now.
Until next time...
David.
