Just one of those days

Today was just one of those crappy days that you just want to sleep straight through till tomorrow. That's just about what I did, it seems like.

First, my alarm went off @ 7:30 this morning, which would have given me 2 hours to shower, get dressed grab some breakfast, and get to class. However, I woke up feeling like crap, so I hit the snooze button. Except I turned the alarm off by mistake. The next thing I know, it's 10:45, and I completely slept through my 9:30 class. It also only gave me 15 minutes to dress and get to my 11:00 class. I was a couple minutes late, but at least the day was off to a start.

After my honors class, I had to get back to my room to pick up my trumpet. Since my band class is all the way in the new music building, I have 15 minutes to get to my room, pick up my trumpet, and get to the other side of campus. Needless to say, I was late. By nearly 10 minutes. I talked to the director afterwards and he said it was ok if I was a few minutes late since I'm not taking the class for credit.

Once band was over, I went and grabbed lunch, then had a meeting with my French professor from last semester. Turns out the reason I got the D in that class was because I failed the final. Despite that news, the meeting was the highlight of my day. I'm not gonna put the whole discussion here, but basically we talked about my plans for future French studies. She also said if I serve my mission in a French-speaking area, I could get study abroad credits if I keep a journal in French or turn in a paper when I get back.

After the meeting, I trudged back to my room in the rain and flooding, and when I got back to the room, my roommate says to me "Dude, you look beat." It was an accurate assessment. I decided that a nap was in order, so I laid down around 4 pm with the intention of waking up around 6. That didn't go too well, either. I didn't get up until almost 8:00.

Well now that CSI's on, and I'm talking to friends online, the day's going a little better. I'm just glad it's almost the weekend and I won't have to worry about classes for 3 days! (I get MLK day off for the first time since like Kindergarten.)

Anyway, that's my life.

Later
