I don't know where this will go
Well guys, you asked for it: it's update time! Now, how can I condense the last month or so into one post? I don't know at the moment, but I'm going to do my best.
I've made a (temporary) decision regarding my job @ McDonald's. Now that band's over, I'm going to start working there every Saturday during the day, at least until Christmas break. I'm in the process of filling out job applications, so hopefully I can get a job in Muncie by Christmas. If all else fails, though, I'll just transfer to the McDonald's on Tillotson. Oh, that reminds me...
I'm going to be living on campus in the Spring!!! I'm so excited! I hope to get to live in Stu West (air-conditioned, baby!). If I don't get put in there, though, I'd like to live in Johnson. They send the housing packets for the spring sometime in December, so I'll just have to wait and see.
Now, about band... Quite the scandalous topic as of the past couple weeks. In order to explain that, I'll have to go back to the beginning of the season. Mr. Allbright decided, out of the kindness of his heart, to let 4 students from Anderson march in Pendleton's band. He did this because Anderson does track shows and he wanted to give them the chance to march a field show. It was an educational tool. However, according to ISSMA rules, this decision was illegal. After a mediocre season, the band barely managed to make it out of District with a Gold Division (Division I). Somehow (and this is where the controversy comes in) ISSMA found out that Pendleton was marching kids from Anderson. As a result, Pendleton was disqualified from Regionals. They were allowed to retain their Gold rating from District, but after the Center Grove contest, their season was over. The good thing was that the band took it exceptionally well. The Anderson people had become a part of the band. If the band could do it over again, I'm sure they would have kept the Anderson people.
As for school, it's going ok. I'm having some time management issues, but that's normal for me. In fact, as I write this, I should be reading something for my Honors 201 class, but I'm gonna do it in the morning ;)
Listening to: The CD "Tapestry of Dreams" (A Disney CD with the music that was featured in part of Pendleton's marching show)
Weather: Drizzly and cool
