COLLEGE!!!

Before I start this post I just want to ask y'all to bear with me. Since it's been a while since I've posted on here, it's gonna be kinda long. Here goes...

The title of this post is COLLEGE!!!, but I'm not gonna get to that for a while... I'm gonna start by telling you guys about my weekend. On Friday, I was @ BSU most of the day doing the "mandatory" (I put that in quotes because they never took attendance) stuff they have for freshmen. The only real cool part about it (besides spending time with Brie) was the hypnotist they had. It was the funniest thing I ever saw. I'm actually convinced that it was real, and now I want to learn how to do it too!

Saturday and Sunday I spent @ Camp K for Firecrafter Grand Ritual. As it always is when you're a Firecrafter, it was a lot of fun. On Sunday, we had elections for new officers. I finally got a new position besides Ember Secretary/Treasurer (which I've held the last 2 years by default). I'm now the Tomalapas Ember Vice-Chief. This year the ember officers are actually gonna try to do stuff! (Anyone in Firecrafter will understand that last statement.) It's gonna be a good year, I think.

Now for the part you've all been waiting for:

David Starts His College Life

Classes @ BSU started on Monday. Of course, that's the day I'll always remember as the day I almost died. This next part might be a little confusing for those of you who don't know Muncie very well. I was driving up Hoyt Avenue heading for Tillotson when my cell phone and CD player both fell out of the seat after a turn. Of course, the song that came on the CD was one I really didn't want to hear, so I reached down to pick up the stuff. When I look back up, I'm halfway off the road and headed straight for a telephone pole. I panic and swerve to the left (back on to the road), but overcorrect and almost hit a line of trees on that side of the road. I then swerve back to the right, heading for a big tree, pull to the left, and end up completely off the road right in front of a speed limit sign...

...

...After about 10 minutes of recovery from my heart attack (LOL), I slowly got back on to the road (there are still ruts in the grass from where I went off the road) and resumed my course for BSU... 5 minutes late to class... Oh well.

For any of you who are interested, here's my class schedule:

MONDAY

9:00 - 9:50: COMM 210 (a speech class)

11:00 - 11:50: TCOM 101 (intro-level TCOM class)

13:00 - 13:50: FR 334 (a 3rd year French history class)

TUESDAY

8:00 - 9:15: ASTRO 100 (intro-level astronomy class)

11:00 - 12:15: HONRS 201 (an honors humanities class)

WEDNESDAY

same as Monday, except COMM 210 is replaced w/COMM 210D from 14:00 - 14:50

(COMM 210D is the small group portion of COMM 210)

THURSDAY

same as Tuesday, except with HONRS 100 from 10:00 - 10:50

FRIDAY

same as Wednesday
